Bay or Holliday: Who Would You Rather Have Now?

Rather than dwell on the Cardinals coming all the way back from a  7-3 deficit, only to lose 9-8, let’s take a look at the two marquee left fielders from last year’s free agent class.  Jason Bay and Matt Holliday.

Two months into the season, who would you rather have on the roster?

Bay:  3 HR, 23 RBI, .151 ISO, .366 wOBA, Dewan plus/minus -5.

Holliday:  5 HR, 22 RBI, .155 ISO, .367 wOBA, Dewan plus/minus -1.

So far I’d say it’s a wash.  What are your thoughts?

  1. I don’t think I’m that surprised about Bay’s numbers, but Holliday has surprised me with his weaker start. Still, Holliday’s better in the field and much less likely to drop off the face of the earth than Bay is, so I think the Cards did the right thing.
